wpForo User Mentioning is an official and lightweight addon developed by gVectors Team for the popular forum plugin wpForo. Its main function is to allow users to mention other members within forum topics and replies using the @ symbol, facilitating more direct and personalized communication among community participants.

When a user starts typing the @ symbol followed by the first letters of a username, the addon displays a popup with an autocomplete list of forum members. This list updates dynamically as you type, allowing you to quickly locate the desired person. Additionally, users can navigate through all suggestions using the up and down arrow keys and select the correct option by pressing Enter, which significantly speeds up the writing process.

One of the most valuable features of this addon is the email notification system. When a user is mentioned in a topic or reply, they automatically receive an email notification informing them about the post in which they were mentioned. This ensures that members never miss relevant conversations, even if they are not actively browsing the forum at that moment.

The addon includes a dedicated settings page within the wpForo admin panel, where administrators can control mention notifications, manage email content, and set mention limits. Users also have the option to mute mention notifications from their profile page, offering total control over each member's experience.

Additional functionalities include inline mentioning, the ability to hide users from invisible groups via filters, and suggesting users from specific lists. The addon is compatible with PHP 8.4 and requires at least wpForo version 2.3.1 to function correctly.
