WooCommerce Product Batch Numbers is an extension designed for WooCommerce stores that need to manage their inventory by product batches or lots. It is especially intended for businesses that handle perishable products or require rigorous traceability, such as food, cosmetics, pharmacy, supplements, and any type of inventory with expiration dates or manufacturing batches.

The extension converts standard WooCommerce stock into dated batches, each with its own batch number, supplier, manufacturing date, expiration date, and available quantity. This allows store administrators to assign batches directly from each product's inventory tab, even at the variation level, and maintain much more granular control over stock.

One of its most notable features is automatic stock deduction using FEFO (First Expired, First Out) or FIFO (First In, First Out) strategies, with the ability to configure a strategy per product. It also includes a mode where the customer can choose the batch or expiration date on the product page.

The plugin records exactly which batches were consumed in each order, and these batch numbers are searchable from the order list. Additionally, it allows editing the batch assignment of an order directly from the order screen, even for already paid orders, with automatic stock correction. If an order is canceled, quantities automatically return to their original batches, and in case of returns, they are recorded as returns.
