WooCommerce FirstData Payment Gateway (Clover) is a payment extension for WordPress that connects your WooCommerce store directly with the First Data payment processor and the Clover ecosystem. It is specifically designed for merchants who already work with First Data or Clover on their physical terminal and need their online channel to use the same banking infrastructure, eliminating parallel systems, fragmented reports, and constant manual reconciliations.

The gateway allows you to accept all major credit and debit cards —Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club, and JCB— directly on your site, keeping the customer on your page throughout the entire purchase process. It supports three connection modes: Clover Gateway, Payeezy Gateway (formerly GGe4), and Payeezy API with Payment.js, allowing you to choose the mode that corresponds to your First Data account.

Among its most notable features are TransArmor tokenization, which allows customers to securely save their cards on First Data servers to speed up future purchases and reduce the PCI compliance burden. It also includes an enhanced payment form with retina icons that automatically detects and formats the card type, and full support for WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce Pre-Orders, ideal for businesses with recurring payments or pre-sales.

From the WooCommerce dashboard, you can capture charges for pre-authorized transactions, process automatic refunds, void transactions, and cancel orders without needing to log in to the Clover dashboard. You can also capture charges in bulk for multiple orders, display detailed rejection messages at checkout to help customers complete their transactions, and force charges for orders containing only virtual items.

The extension includes support for TeleCheck (eCheck) and soft descriptors, allowing you to manage multiple sites under a single merchant account. It requires an active First Data account and an SSL certificate to protect customers' card data.
