FacetWP – Time Since

FacetWP – Time Since is an official extension of the FacetWP ecosystem that adds a new facet type for filtering content by relative time intervals. Instead of forcing visitors to select exact dates, this add-on allows you to create intuitive options like "Last 24 hours", "Last 7 days", "Last 30 days", or "Last year", making navigation through recent content much more natural and faster.

The plugin is designed for sites where content freshness is crucial: blogs and news media that need to highlight recent posts, directories and classifieds where newer listings have higher value, job and event portals, online stores that want to showcase new arrivals, and any project with time-sensitive content. It is also useful for administrators who want to offer their users the ability to view results published or updated within a specific period.

Configuration is flexible and requires no programming knowledge. The administrator defines filtering options using relative tags and formats based on PHP's strtotime function, allowing custom ranges like "Yesterday", "Today", "Next 7 days", or "Past year". The facet can be displayed in three different interfaces: radio buttons, dropdown list, or fSelect, adapting to each site's design and user experience.

The add-on works with native WordPress date fields such as publication or modification date, as well as custom fields in YYYY-MM-DD format, including those generated by ACF Date Picker or Date Time Picker. It respects the timezone configured in WordPress general settings for accurate time calculations, and integrates with FacetWP's indexing system to deliver fast filtering results even with large content volumes.

Key features include the option to display "ghosts" (options that would return zero results, dimmed and non-clickable), translatable labels via the facetwp_i18n hook, and support for custom post types. Version 1.7.2 introduced improvements to interface configuration with new display options.
