The extension integrates a message icon on each customer's page within the admin panel. From there, the administrator can compose and send single messages with recipient, subject, and content fields, which are auto-filled with the contact data associated with each buyer. Additionally, files can be attached to messages, which is especially useful for sharing documents, invoices, instructions, or supplementary files with customers. If the Amazon S3 extension is used, attachments can be selected directly from S3 buckets.

One of the most notable advantages is message logging. The extension saves a complete history of all sent communications, visible both in each customer's message view and in a consolidated table within the reports section of the dashboard. This allows administrators to keep clear track of interactions and review previous conversations when necessary.

Configuration is simple: after installing and activating the extension, access the settings from Downloads → Settings → Extensions → EDD Message. There you can define message logging options and, if Frontend Submissions is active, control communication between vendors and customers from the vendor dashboard.
