Bookly Waiting List (Add-on)

Bookly Waiting List is an official add-on for the Bookly booking system that allows businesses to manage waiting lists when all time slots are fully booked. Instead of losing customers who arrive at a full schedule, this add-on automatically records their interest and keeps them in an organized queue, ready to take advantage of any cancellation or freed-up slot.

It is designed for businesses that work with appointments and limited capacity on WordPress: clinics, training centers, beauty salons, training studios, consultancies, and any high-demand service. When a customer tries to book a time slot that is already occupied, they can join the waiting list directly from the booking form without leaving the website. Full slots are shown in gray and indicate how many people are waiting, providing transparency to the process.

The add-on automatically manages email and SMS notifications. When a cancellation occurs, all customers on the list receive a notice with a link to confirm the new available appointment. Staff also receive notifications with the {appointment_waiting_list} code, which shows the complete list of waiting customers for each slot, facilitating quick assignment of freed-up slots.

From the Bookly admin panel, it is possible to manually add customers to the waiting list, change their status to "On waiting list" from the calendar or appointments section, and configure the limit of people who can join each list. This limit is configurable per service, allowing the feature to be disabled for specific services or adjusted according to each business's needs.

If combined with Bookly's group booking add-on, you can configure that all customers trying to book a slot with an active waiting list are added to the queue, regardless of remaining capacity. This maximizes demand capture and prevents lost booking opportunities.
