Assignments Add-on for LearnPress

The Assignments Add-on for LearnPress is an official extension developed by ThimPress that expands the capabilities of the popular WordPress LMS plugin, allowing instructors to create tasks, essays, and practical assignments that students can complete from home and submit directly from the course.

This add-on responds to the growing demand for more flexible and varied assessment methods within e-learning platforms. With it, instructors can create assignments with detailed descriptions, attach supporting materials such as workbooks, PDF documents, images, or videos, and set clear deadlines for each activity. Students, in turn, can read the instructions, download attached files, write their responses in a rich text editor, and upload files up to the size and quantity configured by the instructor.

The workflow is complete and well thought out: students can save their responses as drafts to revisit later, and only when they decide to submit them definitively do they reach the instructor. Once graded, students receive an email notification and can view their grade both within the course and from their user profile.

For instructors, the admin panel offers total control over each assignment. They can set the maximum score, passing grade, number of allowed attempts, file limit, and maximum file size. Reviewing submissions is done from a dedicated tab in the backend, where the number of enrolled students and each received response are displayed. The grading system allows assigning a grade, adding personalized comments, and, if the assignment does not meet requirements, returning it to the student for resubmission, with the corresponding email notification.

This add-on integrates natively with LearnPress and works with any theme compatible with this LMS, as well as with other official add-ons such as Certificates, Gradebook, or Co-instructors. It is the ideal solution for educational institutions, online academies, and course creators who want to assess their students beyond traditional quizzes, fostering communication between students and instructors and generating better learning outcomes.
